Privacy policy:
We're constantly fighting prejudice surrounding HIV and AIDS. Indeed sadly many people over the years have been forced to hide the fact that the death of their loved one was due to an AIDS related illness. Unfortunately widespread stigma does still exist and so for this reason we want to ensure that the privacy of individuals is respected and each tribute is treated responsibly and with sensitivity.
If you think that there is a chance that your loved one's privacy may be compromised by your adding their ribbon to the wall (or that of their family), please do use an alias such as a nickname, or even their initials to make your loved one less easily identifiable, if you feel that this is appropriate. Please also act with the same level of sensitivity if you are considering adding a photo to your tribute. We want people to be remembered appropriately and to respect each person's memory in a fitting way.
